Cedar-Rain grew up among her Pawnee and Crow cultures and traditions. However, over time she began to lose touch with her heritage and had trouble finding it in herself to create art that is relative to her culture. What you see here are the beginning steps into who Cedar-Rain is.
"Red paint is amongst many Nations and is either given or earned. Not everyone has the right to paint their face. In this series, I created these girls and boys with the intention of protection and awareness."
